As an independent real estate firm, our goal is to provide the best possible service to you and provide comprehensive assistance in achieving your real estate goals. This is true whether you're moving to a Virginia/West Virginia community from across town or across the world. One of the ways that we provide that level of service is through our affiliation with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE), a worldwide network of top independent real estate brokerages.
We sat down with Colby Shifflett, from our Augusta office, to find out what he loves most about living in Staunton.
I live in the College Park neighborhood of Staunton, Virginia (McSwain Elementary and Staunton High School districts), and my family and I love it here! We have great neighbors, and there is a genuine sense of warmth and community here. We're always looking out for each other, and it's always easy to say hello or offer neighborly help to one another. Life is a little bit slower, and southern hospitality is everywhere. Furthermore, my son really enjoys McSwain Elementary, and we have nothing but good things to say about the awesome teachers there. I would also like to highlight the plentiful programs available to us through Staunton Parks and Rec and the local YMCA.
So you're ready to take that giant step and buy a house. Maybe you drove down the street and saw a yard sign in front of your dream home. You wrote down the real estate agent's name and phone number and are ready to give them a call. Wait Stop!
Before you make that call, there are a couple of things you need to know. The number you are dialing belongs to the REALTOR® (or Listing Agent) who works for the person selling the house—not you the prospective home buyer.
People interested in buying a house should have their own real estate agent (or Buyer's Agent) whose job it is to represent their best interests.
There are a world of differences between the services of a Listing Agent and Buyer's Agent. Here's what you can expect from each type of REALTOR®.
