Harrisonburg Restaurants Offer Culinary Delights

Harrisonburg VA RestaurantsHarrisonburg's downtown has seen a true renaissance in recent years.  Its local Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance organization has worked hard to draw interest, business and events to the area. No longer is the downtown filled with vacant buildings and empty streets. Today, it is a vibrant area that is a true asset to the local community. Among those businesses and shops that have helped bring about the renaissance are a number of restaurants with a wide range of culinary delights.

Getting a Taste of the City

Throughout the streets of Downtown Harrisonburg, locals find a number of restaurants that make a visit to the area a culinary delight. Most of these restaurants are unique to Harrisonburg, and the city has built quite the reputation among foodies.

Harrisonburg VA dining

Whether you are in the mood for empanadas that have a fresh-from-the-Caribbean taste at Arepera Las Chamas, want to dig into an all-American burger at Jack Brown's or have a hankering for Indian American fusion at Indian American Cafe, you will find it among the eateries in the downtown area. Sometimes, the biggest problem diners face is choosing which restaurant to spend their time. Taste of Downtown, Harrisonburg's restaurant week, provides a solution.

Taste of Downtown

Taste of Downtown happens twice a year--once in March and once in November. The week-long event gives diners the chance to experience local flavors and support local businesses while enjoying special pricing on the signature dishes of their favorite local restaurants. Harrisonburg is hosting its 2015 Taste of Downtown Monday, November 9 through Sunday, November 15.

Head to Harrisonburg's culinary district for special pricing on the most creative and tasty offerings of local restaurants. Specials are available from breakfast through dinner and even dessert, so you can visit any time of day and enjoy the special pricing. Who knows, you just might come away from the event with a new favorite restaurant. If you are having trouble deciding what places to try, consider signing up for Rocktown Bites! Pub and Grub Tour, taking place November 14, which provides a sampling from several different restaurants and pubs.
