6 Tips for Adding Value to Your Home

Renovating any house requires a homeowner to make a host of difficult decisions as they go. No matter how you plan on retooling an existing home, your modifications should add to the cumulative value of the domicile rather than subtract from it. The following upgrades are sure to bump up the resale value of any house.

1.  Jazz Up the Kitchen

As a focal point of the modern home, the kitchen is an obvious renovation target. Update your existing layout with a multi-purpose island, some custom fixtures or a few unique storage options such as hanging racks. If you feel like going all out, you could always put in a granite or marble countertop.

Old Dominion Realty to Sponsor FCA 1/2 Marathon and 8K Race

Old Dominion Realty Sponsors FCA Race

If you are looking for things to do in Dayton, Virginia this month and are interested in helping a great local cause, then partner with Old Dominion Realty to help the Fellowship of Christian Athletes while enjoying a healthy activity through the upcoming half marathon and 8K race. Old Dominion Realty is sponsoring the race on Saturday, October 25.

About the FCA Race

On Saturday, October 25, racers will join the Old Dominion Realty family to race through Dayton, Virginia. The race will cover several elevation changes and will be an excellent challenge even for the most experienced runners. The 1/2 marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. and the shorter 8K will begin just a half hour later at 8 a.m. Both races will start at the College Street Pavilion, and packets can be picked up the evening before from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p/m. Race day registration is available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. the day of the race. Participants who register early will receive a shirt.

After the race, a post-race celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Erik Kratz of the Kansas City Royals will be speaking at the celebration, making it even more exciting as one of the top things to do for the weekend. The top three female and male finishers will receive a prize at the celebration.

The race proceeds will go to support the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Those running the 1/2 marathon will pay $55 plus $3.30 to sign up. Those in the 8K will pay $35 plus a $3 signup fee. Early registration ends October 23 at 11:59 p.m.
