Old Dominion Realty is sponsoring the race on Saturday, October 25.
On Saturday, October 25, racers will join the Old Dominion Realty family to race through Dayton, Virginia. The race will cover several elevation changes and will be an excellent challenge even for the most experienced runners. The 1/2 marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. and the shorter 8K will begin just a half hour later at 8 a.m. Both races will start at the College Street Pavilion, and packets can be picked up the evening before from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p/m. Race day registration is available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. the day of the race. Participants who register early will receive a shirt.
After the race, a post-race celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Erik Kratz of the Kansas City Royals will be speaking at the celebration, making it even more exciting as one of the top things to do for the weekend. The top three female and male finishers will receive a prize at the celebration.
The race proceeds will go to support the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Those running the 1/2 marathon will pay $55 plus $3.30 to sign up. Those in the 8K will pay $35 plus a $3 signup fee. Early registration ends October 23 at 11:59 p.m.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is dedicated to providing training and encouragement to coaches, athletes and the community through mentoring, outreach events and retreats. They also have campus ministries that work with junior high, high school and college campuses to provide their unique form of counseling and training at these schools.
